TV presenter Andi Oliver to host BBC Radio 4’s new food podcast
Andi Oliver, presenter of Great British Menu, will explore the stories and science behind favorite dishes in her new podcast on BBC Radio 4.
he television star and chef will host a weekly show called One Dish. His guests will include comedian Phil Wang and The Great British Bake Off semi-finalist Briony May Williams.
Oliver will ask his guests to say which dish is particularly important to them. She will then reveal the secrets of this dish, explaining how it came about and why it is appreciated.
She’ll discuss soda bread with Williams, Wat Tan Hor with Wang and lasagna with Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole.
Likewise, the series will also see Discovered Schnitzel with comedian Jessica Fostekew, Carrot Cake with author Benjamina Ebuehi, Fish Pie with writer Ixta Belfrage, and Biryani with author Poorna Bell.
Oliver said: “The foods we like say a lot about who we are.
“Just remembering a favorite food connects us to intensely personal memories.
“There are surprising stories behind the dishes that hold a special place in our hearts.
“I can’t wait to learn more about my guests and the One Dish they love so much.”
The weekly show will feature Oliver and his guest enjoying the dish and giving listeners top tips on how to make a version themselves.
Kimberley Wilson, nutritional psychologist and former star of The Great British Bake Off, will also feature on the podcast, providing science-based insights.
