Northwestern Celebrities at the National Television Awards

It was the National Television Awards (NTA) last night (September 9) and many of the Northwest’s most famous faces attended the O2 arena; some of them even went home with some rewards.

From Blackburn footballers to Bolton celebrities, a range of locals were dressed to impress and ready for a glamorous evening on the red carpet.

Here are some photos and stories from the celebrities of the Northwest who attended the event:

ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here! won the Bruce Forsyth entertainment award and Burnley’s Jordan North was there to claim the award.

Posting on Instagram, Jordan wrote: “Last night @imacelebrity won an NTA and I couldn’t be happier!

“Best of all, I got to see the old campmates and still love them all in pieces!”

In the photos, Jordan can be seen smiling next to 2020 Series winner Giovanna Fletcher.

AJ Pritchard and fellow Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope also appeared in his photos.

Vick Hope also posted a snap of the pair on a London hit.

Vernon Kay, who also appeared in the 2020 series of I’m a Celeb, also posted a few photos on his social media account.

The Bolton-born presenter posted a photo of himself alongside presenter Joel Dommett.

The caption read: “There you go… # NTAs2021”

Victoria Derbyshire de Bury met Vernon, Jordan and Giovanna and posted the evidence on Twitter.

She wrote: “#Imacelebrity won at #NTA – @ jordannorth1, @MrsGiFletcher, @vernonkay and I are happy!

Blackburn-born Rhiannon Clements was also in the NTAs and was nominated for Best Newcomer of the Year for her role as Summer Ranger in Hollyoaks.

Sadly, she didn’t win and lost to 10-year-old Jude Riordan of St Helens.

The Coronation Street Star is the youngest NTA winner of all time.

Blackburn Rovers footballer Bradley Dack also attended the awards show with his fiancee.

Olivia Attwood posted some photos of the duo, along with Ferne McCann, to her Instagram Story just as they were leaving for the awards.

In the story, the Love Island star explained that this was Bradley’s first time attending the NTAs with her.

“I’m so excited to be in the third wheel,” Ferne joked.

Channel 4’s show Gogglebox also won an NTA award and some Blackpool siblings were on stage to accept the award.

The Channel 4 show fended off competition from documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life And Death, travel series Gordon, Gino And Fred: American Road Trip and For the Love Of Dogs by Paul O’Grady to claim the gong on Thursday evening.

Sophie Sandiford from Blackpool couldn’t finish her acceptance speech and joked: “It’s the drink – sorry.”

Big brother Pete took over and said, “We just want to warmly thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert and the NTAs for hosting us tonight.

“Without our actors and our team, none of this would be possible.

“The team are working tirelessly to get the show done in such a short time.”

Another star of the series, Julie Malone, also paid tribute to the cast of Gogglebox who died earlier in the year.

She said: “On behalf of all the Gogglebox families, I would just like to thank you for this award.

“On a sadder note, I would like to bring it to all of the people we have sadly lost over the past 18 months to two years.

“It’s Andy, Pete, Mary and everyone’s favorite grandmother, June, who is now reunited with Leon. Thank you so much.”
