Millbrook Lane closed after crash which saw car hit telephone pole

A closed road is in place after two cars were involved in an accident and one hit a telephone pole.

Millbrook Lane in Eccleston has been closed in both directions and emergency services have been on the scene since shortly after 3pm this afternoon, Thursday.

A Ford Fiesta and a gray Peugeot were involved in an accident, the latter also colliding with a telephone pole.

The driver of the Peugeot suffered “minor injuries”, police said.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “At approximately 3.05pm this afternoon (Thursday June 16) we received a report of a collision on Millbrook Lane, Eccleston.

“The collision involved two vehicles, a blue Ford Fiesta and a gray Peugeot. The Peugeot also collided with a telegraph pole.

“The driver of the Peugeot reportedly suffered minor injuries.

“Road closures are currently in place on Millbrook Lane while emergency services deal with the incident and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes where possible.

“Investigations into the collision are ongoing.”

The road closure has been extended to Mill Brow and shortened to Crocketts Walk from Kiln Lane.
