Geeetech launches its high-speed THUNDER FDM 3D printer
According to Geeetech, many consumer FDM printers currently available on the market are quite slow – this is the angle the company is using when releasing its new THUNDER high-speed 3D printer, which is expected to launch in early September. the Kickstarter (for early risers). Geeetech’s THUNDER 3D printer will come with particularly high printing speed, all-metal body design, “super strong cooling system” and large printing volume.
Geeetech has been working on the technology, which enables the THUNDER to print quickly without compromising the quality of the final part, for two years now, since 2020. According to Geeetech, the printer can achieve a print speed of up to 300mm /s with an acceleration of 5000mm/s² for the X axis and 4000mm/s² for the Y axis. The company also claims that with the same model and print quality, users can save 30 to 70 % of print time, depending on the complexity of the model.
When designing the THUNDER printer, Geeetech adopted a dual-drive gear extruder, a high-power heating module, a large-volume nozzle for extrusion, and five cooling fans for hot-end cooling. and the model. All these aspects combined allow for better performance compared to traditional FDM 3D printers, according to Geeetech. The THUNDER printer’s high-speed 3D printing cannot be achieved without an efficient extrusion system and efficient cooling system, while the all-metal body, with dual Z-axis design, ensures the stability of the printer. machine when moving at high speed.
The THUNDER printer offers a print volume of 250 x 250 x 260 mm and comes with five different print modes, for different printing needs. It also supports other features such as interrupt resume capabilities and password protection.
When Geeetech launches the Kickstarter project in September, early risers can purchase a THUNDER printer for $399.
