Essentium launches the 280i HT IDEX 3D printer for the factory »3dpbm
Essentium launched the new 280i HT High-Speed ââExtrusion (HSE) 3D Printer, the first independent dual extrusion (IDEX) system designed and developed for factory requirements. The HSE 280i HT 3D printer features true independent dual extruders, each head being completely independent on the X and Y axes. This allows manufacturers to speed up production of parts on an industrial scale, even for complex geometric shapes. , while significantly reducing post-processing costs.
The HSE 280i HT 3D printer delivers print speeds of over 500mm / s using high torque non-slip extrusion system with all linear servo motors. Different from most FFF processes which rely on a
build chamber, the HSE 280i HT 3D printer uses a multimodal heating method designed to heat the room, eliminating the need for manufacturers to wait for the chamber to warm up to start printing.
The IDEX 3D printer is designed to transform manufacturing shops and solve AM’s speed, strength and scale issues that have held back the shift from prototyping to large-scale production series in industries such as aerospace, electronics, automotive, contract manufacturing and consumer goods. In addition to the launch of the HSE 280i HT 3D printer, Essentium launched a new high-performance material to help manufacturers realize the full potential of AM on an industrial scale and deliver on its commitment to create an open global ecosystem that gives customers control over their innovation.
Developed in partnership with LEHVOSS Group, Essentium PP-CF is a polypropylene filament reinforced with 20% carbon fibers made with LUVOCOM 3F resin from LEHVOSS. This material is designed to offer mechanical performance combined with printability. It offers good chemical resistance and low surface energy, making it useful for silicone and urethane molding applications. Essentium PP-CF enables manufacturers to print low surface energy, chemical resistant parts with higher strength and stiffness than unreinforced polyolefins.
âThe manufacturing industry is moving more and more towards a lighter and more agile future thanks to AM. This is the start of a radical change, where billions will be saved through new business and production models, âsaid Blake Teipel, Ph.D., CEO of Essentium,â But this change requires continuous innovation. and relentless to be able to do things not done before, to make parts that have never been made before – and to make things that have never been made before. That’s our goal with the launch of the industry’s first true IDEX machine – we believe the HSE 280i HT 3D Printer is a game changer providing manufacturers with the ultimate machine tool for large-scale 3D printing â .
