Ben Fordham moves away from TV to focus on radio

Ben Fordham has announced he will not be returning to host Nine’s ninja warrior and instead, he’ll focus exclusively on his 2GB breakfast radio show.

Fordham, who hosted ninja warrior for five seasons, said The daily telegraph, “I’m not going to welcome Australians ninja warrior moving forward because I found it put so much pressure on my family and the breakfast show.

“I decided it would be best for me to just focus on the main game, which is Breakfast Radio. For the sake of my sanity and also my family, I think it’s best to stop ninja warrior and focus on the radio.

Fordham’s choice to focus on breakfast radio may have been due to the fact that he recently won ratings, after a slow and steady start.

Fordham, who picked up the Alan Jones breakfast show, has been slow to find his feet and his radio audiences. Famous, earlier this year, Kyle and Jackie O beat the Fordham show in the Sydney Breakfast niche.

However, Fordham has unmistakably found its audience and groove now and has become an audience winner. Fordham has landed the highly competitive number one in Sydney breakfast, in the most recent radio ratings, for the second time in a row.

It is assumed that Fordham will continue his relationship with Nine to some extent, as he has worked with the network for over twenty years.

Nine has yet to announce Fordham’s replacement on ninja warrior.
